Your security, built in
How Easy Recharge keeps your money and your account safe — and how you can stay safe too.
At Easy Recharge, every airtime top-up, data bundle, bill payment, and transfer should feel effortless — and safe. Security isn't a feature we bolt on at the end; it's part of how the app works every time you tap "Pay". Here's how we protect you, and how you can protect yourself.
How we keep you safe
Your transactions are encrypted
Every transaction you make is encrypted, so your details are scrambled and protected as they travel between your device and us. Your sensitive information stays private — not exposed along the way.
Your PIN never leaves your device
Your transaction PIN is yours alone. It is never stored on our servers and never leaves your device — it stays with you and is used right there on your phone to authorise your payments. That means even we can't see it. (It also means we can never ask you for it — so if anyone does, it's a scam.)
Verified accounts keep fraudsters out
We verify accounts through our KYC tiers before unlocking higher limits. This extra step helps make sure people are who they say they are, keeps bad actors off the platform, and protects the whole Easy Recharge community from fraud.
Failed transaction? You get your money back — automatically
Sometimes a network or biller has a hiccup. If a transaction fails, we automatically refund the amount to your Easy Recharge wallet — no forms, no waiting on hold, no chasing us for it. Our delivery success rate is 99.9%, and on the rare occasion something doesn't go through, your money comes straight back to you.
Real humans, ready to help
If something doesn't look right, you can reach a real person on our support team. We're here to answer questions, sort out issues, and help you keep your account secure — not a dead-end chatbot loop.
A note on what we are: Easy Recharge is a recharge and bill-payments app, not a bank. Your wallet is a prepaid balance you load to pay for the things you buy through the app.
How you can stay safe
Security works best as a team effort. A few simple habits go a long way.
Never share your PIN or OTP — with anyone
Your transaction PIN and any one-time password (OTP) are for your eyes only. No one from Easy Recharge will ever ask you for your PIN, OTP, or full password — not by call, SMS, email, or chat. If someone asks, it's a scam. Don't share it, and don't enter it on any page or app that isn't Easy Recharge.
Watch out for impersonators
Fraudsters may pretend to be "Easy Recharge support", your bank, or a network provider to pressure you into sharing codes or sending money. Be suspicious of urgent requests, unexpected links, and anyone rushing you. When in doubt, stop, and contact us directly through the official app or the details on easyrecharge.ng.
Choose a strong PIN — and keep it private
- Don't use an obvious PIN like
1234,0000, or your birth year. - Don't reuse a PIN you already use elsewhere.
- Don't write it down where others can find it, or save it in your notes or messages.
Lock down your phone
Use a screen lock (PIN, pattern, fingerprint, or face unlock) on your device, keep your app and operating system updated, and avoid topping up over public Wi-Fi you don't trust.
Tell us right away if something feels off
If you notice a transaction you didn't make, lose your phone, or think someone has your details, contact our support team immediately at [support email] or [support phone] so we can help secure your account.
