How to check your WAEC result online
A simple, step-by-step guide to checking your WAEC result with a result-checker PIN — and where to get the PIN in seconds.
If you have a WAEC result-checker PIN — from a scratch card or bought online — you can check your WASSCE result yourself in a couple of minutes on the official portal. Here's exactly how.
What you need
- Your WAEC examination number — 10 digits (a 7-digit centre number plus your 3-digit candidate number).
- The examination year and exam type (e.g. WASSCE for School Candidates).
- A result-checker PIN and serial number — from a card, or bought online in seconds.
How to check your WAEC result
- Go to the official portal: waecdirect.org.
- Enter your 10-digit examination number.
- Select the examination year (e.g. 2025).
- Select the exam type (School Candidate, or Private/GCE).
- Enter the PIN and serial number from your result-checker card.
- Click Submit — your result appears.
One PIN checks one result, up to five times. WAEC's own FAQ confirms a single e-PIN can be used to check a result a maximum of 5 times, for one candidate only. After that — or to check a different candidate — you'll need a new PIN. So check on a device you trust, and save your result.
You can also check by SMS: text WAEC*ExamNo*PIN*ExamYear to 32327 (charges apply; the SMS shortcode can change each season, so the web portal is the most reliable route).
