How to check your airtime and data balance on MTN, Airtel, Glo and 9mobile
The quickest way to see how much airtime and data you have left on every Nigerian network — plus how to top up the moment you run low.
Running low? Here's the quickest way to see how much data — and airtime — you have left on every Nigerian network, and how to top up the moment you do.
The quick way: two codes for every network
In 2023 the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) standardised balance-check codes, so the same two USSD codes now work on MTN, Airtel, Glo and 9mobile:
- Data balance: dial
*323# - Airtime balance: dial
*310#
That's it — *323# for data and *310# for airtime, on any network. Checking your balance by USSD is free.
Older per-network codes
Some networks' older codes still work as a backup, but the unified *323# / *310# above are the current standard:
| Network | Data (backup codes) | Airtime (backup) |
|---|---|---|
| MTN | *323*4# |
— |
| Airtel | *140# |
*123# |
| Glo | *127*0#, or text INFO to 127 |
*124# |
| 9mobile | *228# |
— |
(9mobile has been rebranding to "T2 Mobile" since 2025, but the codes are unchanged.)
Other ways to check
- Your network's app — MyMTN, Airtel Thanks, Glo Café and the 9mobile app all show your balance on the home screen.
- After you buy on Easy Recharge — your new balance and a receipt appear straight away in your transaction history.
